We’re excited to introduce you to a truly remarkable bred mix: the Pyredane. A unique cross between the noble Great Pyrenees and the majestic Great Dane, this hybrid brings together the best qualities of two gentle giants to create a loving, loyal, and family-oriented companion.

The Pyredane combines the calm, watchful protective instincts of the Great Pyrenees with the loyal, affectionate nature of the Great Dane. The Great Pyrenees is a large, thick-coated guardian breed originally developed to protect flocks in the large expanse of the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain. The Great Dane, known as the “Apollo of dogs,” is a giant, smooth-coated breed celebrated for its elegance, gentleness, and devotion to its family. Both are great with kids and devoted members of the family. Together, these two breeds create a powerful yet sweet-natured companion that brings a perfect balance of watchful protection and gentle affection.

On our aplaca farm, we socialize the puppies to goats, sheep, pigs and lots of people. Based on your needs, we will help you find the perfect puppy! About Us

We’re actually an Alpaca Farm!

Alpacas of Troy is a family-run operation and home to about 15 alpacas and several others animals (Great Pyrenees, fainting goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, and horses).

We have Great Pyrenees to help protect the alpacas and the Australian Shepherds help us manage them, and occasionally they have puppies!

We are located in eastern Missouri about one hour north of St. Louis, and primarily focus on the production of yarn, and felted and knitted products, all of which are made from the alpaca fiber grown and spun here on the farm.
